A Pocket Page: Forest Ride

Good Monday Morning everyone :)

I have something a little different to share with you today.... a pocket page or Project Life as it's also known. For the first week of July we were on our holidays just over the Welsh border and close to the Forest of Dean so we decided to see about hiring bikes and going for a trail around the woodland.

I managed to take a few snaps and a video on my phone and thought I'd turn them into a pocket page... this page takes four 6x6 pages and I used stamps and dies from my stash to make the four mini layouts......

I don't have very much in the way of specialised scrapbook materials.... I try to just use my stash for both cards and pages

I love the group photo on the title page... I used Finley's ABC's Lawn Cuts and
Owens ABC's for the main title, the date was added
to a MFT File Folder edge using Lawn Fawns Plan On It: Calendar stamp set.....
I just noticed I didn't add the year!!

This photo was at our first 'take a break' stop... hehe... don't think we had got that far :)
I used the Etched Tribal background to add some pattern to the brown cardstock, the sticks lying across the corners of the photo are from the Paper Smooches Fused Frame dies (which are on special offer at the moment) I used a brown pen to add shading and made them look like crossed twigs. Another fab die I had to use is the Bicycle from Paper Smooches...
I love its shape :) The silver paper clip is from Sugarpea Designs Notebook Journal Card Dies.... a paperclip made from card is flatter and you can make it any colour you want ;)

I used the Notebook Journal Card dies for the title on this page and the small arrow...
apart from that its doodling and journalling.

The last page (below) uses a paper from Echo Parks Jack & Jill BOY pad and
the title was cut using MFT's Bottlecap letters dies. This was our Autistic son's first bike ride unaided... we let him have control of a trike as he cannot balance a bike but he still needed a lot of reminders on looking where he was going and when to start using the brake!! We were so happy to see him complete the route but I think we had more grey hairs and frayed nerves at the end than we started with !!

I have linked to all the products I used in the text above so please click on the words to take you to the store if you're interested. Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you next week :)

  1. This is a great idea to use so many normal "stash Items" to create the mini scrapbook page.I must try this!

  2. I e been considering doing some PL but I don't want to get into buying loads of other things as well as my usual card making stuff, so this is brilliant! Thank you! Xx
